Manal

Manal is an old deserted village between Muscat and Nizwa. the houses are made in earth, and you can recognise fortifications ruins in the mountain.

I don't think this spot should justify a dedicated trip, but if you're in the area you should make the detour to see this village, recognized as unesco heritage.

  1. The name is Manah - NOT Manal.
It is in fact a terribly interesting [place to visit - especially if like me you know the history of the place and have seen the change in the area. Not to be dissed.

  4. You have obviously not visited the fortified village, restored fort or old village of Manah, having travelled extensively throughout Oman for many years, it is one of the best most unspoilt locations. Before writing things on the web that people read you should understand the responsibility that you have for ensuring the accuracy of your reports. Suggest you refrain from commenting on areas you obviously don't know or understand properly. Your poor pictures and descriptions are a disgrace!

  5. Actually the picture above is for Manal which is part of Samail, Not Manah. Manah is far more interesting place than Manal. It has two big forts and his majesty famous Palace, Alshmookh. It also has the most ancient village in Oman which is currently under renovation.
    Please, re-correct your article.
