Turtle beach is a marvelous place located 30 minutes away eastward from Sur. The place is supervised by the authorities, and you can only access after recorded at the point of control.
The turtles come here all year long, to lay during the night and they leave just before the rising of the sun. in early morning you can see baby turtles fighting to reach the sea.
You can sleep at the turtle beach resort that we recommend, or go to the Ras al Hadd resort which is just on the turtle beach itself.
Note : Avoid going there during Eid holidays because there is too many people and the authorities just don't know how to handle the crowd.

We went there in the first week of July. We decided to stay at the Sur Beach Hotel. The drive up and down to the Turtle beach took us approx 40 minutes either way. We could only see the egg laying. Next time I plan to see the hatchlings. The guides were excellent and they gave very good information.

Very nice place.
is of great importance to establish tougher laws that help protect the turtles on these beaches as many are victims of the theft of their eggs

ReplyDeleteI have never thought that there still beaches like this one. It is just like it wasn't discovered by man yet. The turtles are still roaming the beaches free and away from human intervention. So glad that there are places like this where animals can be conserved and breed freely. And thanks to the government of Oman because they are keeping an eye on this. Nice to see the turtles roaming free again!
ReplyDeleteI want to meet to that turtle beach.
ReplyDeleteIf you can't sleep on the beach, where is the best place to stay so that you can maximize your time with the turtles? It sounds like the closest place is 40 minutes away. If that's the case what are the transport options?
